Workshop Details:
Trainer’s Workshops run a full day in length (with an hour for lunch and/or elective training), and are limited to 30 people to ensure all attendees receive personalized attention. Note, the Whole9 Foundations of Nutrition Workshop is a mandatory prerequisite for attendance at a Trainer’s Workshop. (Sorry, but a CrossFit Nutrition Certification or attendance at another nutrition seminar is not an acceptable substitute.)
You do not have to be a certified trainer to register. We welcome anyone who wants a better understanding of how to teach fundamental nutritional concepts to friends, family members and future clients.
We ask that all trainers bring one representative day of a nutrition log – a client’s, a friends or your own – for analysis. Logs can be prepared in whatever format is easiest (FitDay, Daily Plate, Excel document, hand-written, etc.) Trainers should bring one printed copy of their log to the workshop event.

Melissa authored the popular fitness blog “Urban Gets Diesel” until founding the Whole9 in 2009. She holds numerous CrossFit certifications in fitness, nutrition and exercise science.
From Melissa: “I learned about fitness and nutrition by doing – researching, participating and learning, experimenting on myself, then applying those lessons to clients. Good health and fitness doesn’t have to be complicated, but it is more than just your back squat plus protein grams. It’s not just physical – there are mental and emotional components that should be acknowledged as an integral part of your personal evolutionary process. We help people identify factors impeding their progress, change unhealthy habits and behaviors, and attack their objectives in an educated, effective fashion. We help our clients clear the path for real health and fitness achievements in a way that feels both sustainable and balanced.”

Dallas has a BS in Anatomy and Physiology and an MS in Physical Therapy, and has been a practicing physical therapist since 2001. He also holds numerous CrossFit fitness and nutrition certifications.
From Dallas: “I believe that a high intensity exercise program is both effective and sustainable life-long, when combined with good nutrition and recovery practices. I educate my PT patients about nutrition, sleep, active recovery techniques, and stress management practices as often as I do about the physiology of connective tissue healing, lumbar stabilization, or biomechanics. It was this experience that, in part, led Melissa and me to develop a comprehensive and integrative practice (Whole9) to help our clients continue to aggressively chase health and performance without being hindered by nagging pain and injuries.”
DUTCH LOWY

Dutch Lowy is a competitive Olympic lifter, CrossFit trainer and host of his own Performance Development Seminar series.
From Dutch: "In my seminar, I try to simplify everything. I feel like it is a great introduction into the foundations of CrossFit for both coaches and athletes. It will take your training to a higher level whether you are coaching others, working out in a box, or training in your garage with your buddies. Having a better understanding of what good programming looks like will allow you to not only start to think on your own but also take responsibility for your own training. In my opinion this seminar is a must for anyone interested in their own or others development as CrossFitters."
